Nowadays, when it comes to nail art, you can find plenty of long-lasting options, enough to keep your nail art from shattering after a few days of leaving the salon. For example, the acrylic cover layer can maintain about two to three weeks of polishing time than natural nails, and can also prevent the nails from breaking easily. Gel polish also lasts longer than ordinary nail polish, although these types of nail polish usually have their own problems, including but not limited to peeling off the nail polish will never be good for your nails, even if it may be tempting.

If you are looking for a nail art option that may be less destructive than gel nails and requires less chemical exposure than acrylic, polygel nails may be your next best choice.

"Polygel is considered a hybrid formulation that combines the durability of acrylic with the elastic application of synergistic gels," LeChat Nails educator Syreeta Aaron told POPSUGAR. Polygel is sold as a thick paste, similar to acrylic in the way it is applied to nails, but the main difference is that it hardens when placed under ultraviolet light.

"It's basically a mixture of acrylic powder and clear gel," Aaron said. "With polygel, you can operate it for a longer period of time. It allows you to manipulate it as you want, while acrylic will dry and harden soon after application."

When it comes to how polygel is different from gel and acrylic resin, the main thing you need to know is that the application of gel polish is thinner and may damage your nails slightly. According to Aaron, it may cause Damaged, and acrylic resin requires the use of monomers.

"Polygels do not require the use of monomers, only gels," Aaron said. "Polygel imparts the durability of acrylic, but does not contain the smell of monomers. We think it may be healthier because we have not inhaled monomer chemicals."

You can expect polygel nail art to last for two to three weeks, but the life span of the nail art usually depends on your lifestyle and the number of times you use your hands. Before you book your next appointment, please check out some examples of gel nails.
